Athlete Participation Check List

TEAM REGISTRATION

• All registration and fees must be up-to-date BEFORE the first practice

• Physical on file with the school

  • Complete online via Final Forms

• Payment of team fees - due October 17, 2022 at commitment night

  • If you missed the meeting, please email the NASPC treasurer to make arrnagements for payment

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT

• Ski Coat will be provided to use for the season

• Proper fitting boots are the most important item!

• Racing skis and bindings

  • If you are buying only one pair of skis, Slalom can be used for both events

• Racing helmet:

  • Full helmet with hard ear covering and chin guard attachment [for slalom only]. 

  • If you are buying a new helmet, look for one that conforms to FIS safety standards

• Poles with protective hand guards

  • Guards are only used for Slalom

• Goggles

  • Clear or light lenses are best for night skiing

• Gloves or Mittens - preferrably waterproof with good insulation

• Warm ski socks

OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT

• Shin Guards for Slalom

• Second pair of skis for GS

• Speed suit

• Side zip pants / shorts to wear over the speed suit when not racing

• Boot Bag to carry boots, helmet, guards, etc.

• Fresh Tuned skis - waxed and sharpened

• Neck gator

TEAM CAPTAIN

• Open to Juniors and Seniors - must be veteran team member in good standing with NHS and the Ski Team.

• Interested candidates should submit a 400-word maximum essay on the following topic: How does high school athletics affect your high school experience?
